Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how CAT (“we”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our service at cat.productionpro.nl. By using CAT, you agree to this policy.

YouTube API Services

CAT uses YouTube API Services to show live chat for YouTube streams. Data from YouTube is used only to display chat messages in the overlay. Our use of YouTube API Services is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy (http://www.google.com/policies/privacy).

What information we access and use

When you use CAT:

• YouTube API Data: We request from YouTube only the data needed to show live chat: the active live chat ID for a video, and live chat messages (text and author display name). We use only “text” chat messages; we do not use super chat, membership, or poll data.
• We do not store YouTube API Data on our servers. Chat data is fetched on demand, sent to your browser or overlay, and displayed in memory. When you close the overlay or leave the page, that data is not retained by us.
• URL parameters: The overlay URL you create can contain settings (e.g. font size, alignment). These are used only to render the overlay and are not stored by us.
• Technical data: Our hosting provider (Vercel) may log requests (e.g. IP address, URL) for operational and security purposes. We do not use this for advertising or profiling.

How we use and share information

We use the information described above only to:

• Resolve a YouTube video to its live chat and fetch chat messages.
• Deliver those messages to your overlay for display.
• Operate and secure the service (e.g. server logs).

We do not sell your data. We do not share YouTube API Data or your personal information with third parties for their marketing. We may share data only if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

Cookies and similar technology

Our hosting or analytics may place or access cookies or similar technology on your device or browser (e.g. for load balancing or security). We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other sites. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data retention and deletion

We do not store YouTube API Data. Chat data exists only in your browser session and is effectively “deleted” when you close the overlay or tab. Any minimal technical logs are retained only as long as necessary for operation and security.

Your choices

You can stop using CAT at any time. Because we do not store YouTube API Data and do not use OAuth, there is no account or stored data to delete on our side. For how Google/YouTube handle your data, see the Google Privacy Policy and your Google Account settings.
